We're still working on "Spider Rush!", however, a temporary hiatus was needed.

Hello everyone, long time no see.
We apologize for the silence treatment, but this last few weeks were rough for us, the three of us had to focus on other projects for different classes.
It was a tight schedule, which left us unable to further develop "Spider Rush!" and release it at July.
But now that we have finished our separate works, we can concentrate on "Spider Rush!" with all we got! So the release date will be delayed to September (exact date still unknown).
Without further ado, let us show you the progress we have made so far for the game.
First of all, we updated our interface screens, before, it had a very dark set, now the color palettes are much more balanced. Do check the Interface screens here.

Also, here's a small animation update for our Main Menu screen, Melanie sure looks like she's having fun!

From our build itself, the sprites of the rocketship were implemented and only the white parts are interactable for Melanie to shoot her web.

More assets and mechanics will be implemented in the future, for the moment this is all we can show you.
We will have much more to show until September, so do tell us your thoughts about this new update and make sure to have fun during summer! (With moderation of course)
Best regards,

Ivan areia from DeltaBot Games.

Delay on the updates due to health problems and some content we've been working on

Hello everyone,

because of some health issues I had, there's been a delay on the updates, my deepest apologies on that.
Not to worry, it's nothing extremely serious and I should be making a full recovery in a few days.
But enough about that, let's talk about what really matters, new content.

Our Artist Daniel Reis it's adjusting the interface of our game while making one of the obstacles that will show up during the gameplay and those are...! Birds.

Yes folks you read that right, the new obstacles are birds, angr-I mean, irritated birds!

They're not very pleased with the rocketship disturbing their daily flight and when they see Mellanie the spider, well... Let's just say they need to vent on someone and she's the closest target.

During the game the birds will appear randomly and dive diagonally in order to catch the spider, if they do, Game Over. So be sure to dodge them on time, also, they will only appear during the "Sky" scenario, if players reach the "Space" scenario the birds will no longer spawn.

Besides the birds, there's also an update about Mellanie, mainly her animations. It's still a work in progress, but at least her "Idle" animation in the Main Menu and "Defeated"animation in the Game Over Screen are already developed.
                                                               "Looking" animation in Main Menu

"Defeated" animation in Game Over screen

From the build itself, our programmer Bruno Abano is adjusting the sprites and configuring the obstacles colliders that will appear throughout the game.

This is all we can show you guys at for the moment but we will have plenty more soon, hope you all have a wonderful weekend and until next time.

A brief description of what happened this week and new content.

Hello everybody,
this week was kinda chaotic to us because we had to make a presentation for our teachers.
We had to show them our current game progress, while they would give their opinions and constructive criticisms. Because of that, we had to sort out our things in order to prepare.
We are making some changes based on what the teachers told us, so we won't be showing our current game build. What we can show is the new game logo and icon that we have, plus an update on the game's interface screens.
We already updated both our logo and icon in our IndieDB webpage, it give us a fresh look and that we are making progress along the road!

And of course here's the link to acess to our current game interface screens: Spider Rush! Interface Screens
Please tell us what you think about the new content we showed, any opinions or advices are always appreciated in order for us to improve.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and until the next update.

Update on the rocketship sprites for loop mechanic

Hello everyone, for this update, we're showing the rocketship sprites. These are fundametal to establish the loop needed for the gameplay, which in turn will be generated randomly so that there will be no patterns for the players to notice.

It's been a while

Hello everyone, we know that it's been a while since the last update, however we had a few technical issues regarding our project that needed to be tended and therefore being unable to update weekly.

But we are back and still kicking! So what's new?

Well for starters, we are publishing our project on IndieDB, a website made specifically for promoting their videogame projects and show them to the masses.

Down below you can acess to our game studio homepage and the "Spider Rush!" project:

https://www.indiedb.com/games/spider-rush

We are also doing a full size rockethip and then compare it to what will show on the screen during the gameplay, this is important to define the scale sizes of the sprites in the videogame.

And last but not least, our character can now collect coins while climbing through the blocks in the current build.

That is all for now, we'll make sure to update more frequently and we hope everyone is save and remaining inside of their respective homes.

Until next time!

The main character appears! Also an update on the game mechanics and a draft of the gameplay !

Hello everyone! I would like you all to meet Mellanie, Mellanie the spider.
Mellanie is a simple spider who was enjoying her spidey life when suddenly, a huge strange object appeared in front of her! What she didn't know, is that the mysterious object is called a rocket, a toy rocket who belongs to a kid who is about to launch it!

That's what happens before the game starts by the way.

Besides that, here's a draft of the gameplay that the artist made, the artstyle won't be like this, however, with this we have a better idea on what to focus and how we want the game to be.

The player will be tapping certain zones of the racket and Mellanie will shoot her web in order to go to those zones.

I think that if you watch this video of the game mechanics that our programmer is focusing on, it will give you a better grasp of what we mean.
